Can I just use the software and have my own accountant?

This facility is now available. There were several reasons why it had not been possible to do this in the past.

Under the Money Laundering Regulations there are obligations placed on anyone who is an accountant or tax advisor. It is a legal grey area, whether a company supplying end-users with accounting software is providing an accountancy service. To eliminate this uncertainty we currently insist that all users are clients. However, we are now willing to carry out the necessary Money Laundering checks for a modest fee for non-clients who wish to purchase the software and provide access to their accountants or in some cases this is not required if your accountant provides the neccessary documentation and purchases the software directly to use on your accounts.

An additional reason is that no software can cover all the possible situations which might occur. Your accountant would need to be expert in our software to make certain that you had not done anything wrong.

At the present time, to allow your accountant to access the software, they would need to sign up for a software license and also undergo training to ensure that they can become competent users of WebsterAccounts.

If you would like to use our software but give access to your existing accountant then please email our Managing Director on MD@tax.uk.com. It may be possible to give access on a case-by-case basis.
